I’ve gotten off track here! But I have a few quick moments and want to write about Evie at 9 months old!
This month she made major strides in her gross motor development. She started rolling over last month and being able to sit up. Well, that turned into being able to balance on her hands and knees, and then into the ability to pull herself around in a sort of army-like crawl. Then one day… she was crawling. It started with just a few simple motions and now we can’t keep her in one spot. 🙂
She’s also pulling up on EVERYTHING — the couch, shelves, chairs, tables, laundry baskets (which doesn’t end well especially when the basket is empty.)
I took her to the doctor for her 9 month check-up and she’s in the 60th percentile for weight and height. She weighs about 18.something. I forget how long she is but her clothes are starting to get snug lengthwise — and she’s already in 12 month clothes!
She’s eating anything and everything despite STILL having 0 teeth. Her gums are a bit white but still nothing has broken through. The doctor suggested we give her a little Motrin at nighttime because she’s been waking up every night and said it could be caused by teething pains. We’ve done that a few times but it doesn’t seem to help and she still wakes up around midnight every night. Sean tries to put her back to bed but generally these wake ups result in her coming to bed with us — which, of course, she loves. She falls right to sleep in our bed! 🙂
She’s been enjoying toys and grasping anything within reach. She especially loves things she really shouldn’t have (my phone, the remote, magazines) which I guess just speaks to her ability to notice all the things that I love so much. 🙂 She also really enjoys looking at books, and watching whatever the big kids are doing. She’s fascinated by them and they are huge motivators to her movements and interests.
She still has 5 bottles a day and can be a little (can I say…) dramatic if a bottle doesn’t appear for her at certain times of the day. These times are when she wakes up, 10AM, 1PM, 4PM and 7PM. After her last bottle, she usually falls asleep in my arms and when we notice Lola has fallen asleep, we transfer Eva to her bed (they share a room.) She doesn’t really use the pacifier anymore but it’s still in her crib.
This past month we went to Maine, learned she’s a bit afraid of dogs, went hiking at Wachusett mountain, took a lot of naps, started drinking out of a cup, visited the zoo, and celebrated both my mom’s and Sean’s mom’s birthday!
It was a wonderful month 🙂
September brought chilly mornings, lots of family time, busy schedules and birthdays!
Our littlest guy is seven months old and is a lovebug!
Every October 1st, I give the kids Boo Baskets. They've become a favorite tradition and…
Ah, this has been the first month that I'm feeling a little behind on Walker's…
