All about MONAT.

When Javi started eating food, Sean and I started talking about ways to be healthy in and around our home. We started with the foods we eat and being conscious of where our food comes from. We started reading labels and checking how much sodium and sugar things had. We joined a CSA meat share and stopped buying meat from grocery stores. We started buying fruits and vegetables. We bought a PUR water filter for our fridge and stopped buying bottled water. We started using all those recyclable bags that were stacking up in our closets.

Then we started looking at the products we use. We switched over our laundry detergent to this one, and our cleaning supplies, and our hand soap, and our sunscreen. I’d like to think we’re in a better place now, as a family, then a few years ago. But of course, there’s always more to be done. You can always be better. So when my cousin, Chelsey, asked me if I had heard about MONAT — I was intrigued.

MONAT is a beauty line with many hair products but also some other items like lotions, serums and vitamins. Every ingredient they use is all-natural, safe, pure and sustainable. They don’t test on animals, they don’t include harsh chemicals, they don’t have any unnecessary dyes and fragrances. They DO have 13+ essential oils. They DO strengthen and thicken your hair. They DO protect your scalp and hair follicles.

They sell “systems” which are recommended products for different types of hair. They have a “Hydration system”, a “Volume” system, a “Stylized system”, an “Effortless Style system” among others. But you don’t have to buy the whole system — you can pick and choose which products you like the best. I’m using the shampoo and conditioner from the Effortless Style system but I’m using different styling products. It’s all about what you like and what you want to get out of your hair.

Along with trying to be healthy I was also interested in MONAT because after giving birth twice in the past 2.5 years (add in the emotions, the stress, the hormones, the breastfeeding, and the babies pulling on my hair)… my hair is falling out. As in, Sean asks me every day after I get out of the shower how I still have hair on my head. So I was definitely willing to try out the products that say they grow back hair healthier, longer, and stronger. I’ve read a lot of testimonials from these products and I can’t wait to see the results with us. (Since obviously, I have Sean trying it, too).

So far I love the smell of the products. My hair feels really clean. It has a little more shine and a lot more curl (and a lot less frizz). It feels stronger from the root and I do think LESS is falling out (while I’m still waiting for more to grow in).

Here’s what I’m using:

Here’s what Sean’s using:

(I actually use this shampoo every other wash too.)

(I would take these but I do not/cannot (?) swallow pills) 🙂

And obviously, my little guy is using:

It’s been about 4 weeks of using the products. Which means it’s been a bit less than that since I’ve signed on as a Market Partner with MONAT. Which means, you can buy these great, all-natural products from me! Since I’ve been casually mentioning it in-person and on social media some people have asked me questions so I thought I’d answer some here…

Do you have samples? I do! They make samples of many of their products and I have some samples left. I can get more easily though, so if there’s something you’re interested in — reach out!

I tried the samples and didn’t like it, what now? Okay, so this is a big deal. There is something SOME people experience call the “detox”. Basically, think of your hair follicle as a valley and imagine all the dirt, grim, environmental pollutants and products trapped down in each valley. When you wash with MONAT, the shampoo is getting down into each follicle and cleaning it out. Sometimes, all that stuff ends up on your hair and it weighs it down, or makes it feel dry and otherwise makes it just… bad. The good news! It doesn’t last forever and IF you are willing to commit to using the products past this “detox” phase, the products do wonders!

Bought the products, lasted through the detox and still don’t like them! What now? All products have a 30-day money back guarantee. 🙂

How expensive are these products? I won’t lie, they’re pricey at face value. I can say that you use less product so they last longer than typical bottles of shampoo and conditioner — which means if you do the math out, it’s comparable to something you’d buy at a drug store. But, I honestly think if something is healthy for you, and you’re putting it straight on your skin and your babies skin… it may be worth it to spend a little more money to know that it’s safe.

Do they ever have sales? THEY DO! Not only can you join as a VIP customer and save 15% off products AND get free shipping with your orders but they are always having FLASH SALES that are really great, too. There’s one going on right now…

If you’re at all interested you can reach out to me through social media, email or in-person (if you know me…). 🙂 Or you can visit here and purchase away!
