Cape Cod.

Last week Barb and I took Javi to the Cape for a night. We stayed in a hotel and met up with some friends who were staying down there for the week. Originally, Lola was coming with us but after she started school (and we already paid for it…) I decided it would be better for her to stay home with Sean for the night so she wouldn’t miss school the next day. It worked out nicely because Javi got a bit of time being “an only child” and it was very fun to see him without the distraction of teething, or carrying a heavy infant carrier, or mixing bottles. I think there’s something to this whole thing of taking one child out at a time. It was very (dare I say) relaxing! 🙂

Of course, our first stop was to this ice cream place. We ate there last month when we stayed in the Cape for a week and we couldn’t wait to get back. It’s just such a fun and cute place and they make their own ice cream! Next stop: the carousel! I never actually know if Javi enjoys it but he always begs to get back on ?!

After visiting our friends and a quick swim we stopped for pizza and then went back to our hotel. Javi was amazed that the seagulls he saw at the beach followed him to the pizza place! 🙂

In the morning we went out for an early breakfast. I thought he would LOVE Mickey Mouse pancakes but apparently it’s blasphemous to “eat Mickey” so he wasn’t in the best, most excited mood when breakfast arrived. #momfail

After we met back up with friends for a morning of swimming! They had giant floats which Javi was definitely a fan of 🙂 Overall it was such a fun trip and I can’t wait to do more of these short and sweet trips with my kids in the future.
