Christmas 2021.

The past few years we had enjoyed having people come to our house for a Christmas Eve Open House. Obviously, it couldn’t happen last year and this year was the same. We’re still trying to find a good rhythm and tradition for Christmas Eve but this year we tried to make it as fun as possible! We stayed home most of the day. The police in town bring Santa around on a sleigh so that’s always a fun sight. And then we went out to dinner around 4:30, got home and opened the Christmas Eve box and got in bed at 7PM. Then, of course, we worked our magic. 🙂

Christmas Day Javi woke up at 2:30AM and was up and ready. He laid in bed with us and kept asking if Santa had already come. He was wide awake and never even closed his eyes again. Around 5:30, we headed downstairs and they opened stockings first and then moved to gifts. Javi got a drum set, Lola got Gabby’s Dollhouse and Eva got her own baby doll (and stroller, high chair and crib!) They were so happy. It’s always so fun to watch them open presents. At one point, Eva just gave up and told me she didn’t want to open anymore at all. 🙂

We stayed at our house for the morning and then went to my parent’s house around noon. We stayed there for most of the afternoon and evening. The kids were exhausted by the end of the day. The house was pure chaos. But our hearts were definitely full.

Here’s a little video of our day.
