Disney World 2022.

A few days ago we returned from our Disney trip! We drove there (22 hours each way) and that part of the trip definitely warrants its own post. Plus, some hours into the drive we discovered we were all positive for Covid — so that was interesting! We took all necessary precautions and followed protocols and luckily, we had a house rental with a private pool awaiting us in Florida for our quarantine days! All that aside… here’s what our time in Florida looked like:

Quarantine Life: We definitely lost track of some of the days once we arrived. Wake up times and bed times no longer mattered. I’m pretty sure the kids were eating ice cream at 9AM and didn’t have dinner until past 8PM. 🙂 We were totally off our typically-rigid schedule.

The kids loved the pool so much! Luckily, Javi learned to swim before we left for Florida and he was so good at jumping in the pool and swimming independently. Lola and Eva loved the pool, too. We also played some games, watched lots of TV, and slept… a lot.

Magic Kingdom: We planned to have two park days and one of those days was at Magic Kingdom. It was really hot. In the summer of 2019, we took Lola and Javi to Disney while I was pregnant with Eva and I don’t remember it being this hot. But it was like 107 degrees the day we were there!

We did as many rides as we could — we started with Barnstormer and then did the carousel, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, it’s a small world, Aladdin, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and the Little Mermaid ride. We were there when it opened so we saw the opening “rope drop”, the noon time parade, met Cinderella and Princess Elena of Avalor… and then had to leave. Javi, Sean and I returned at night time to do Peter Pan, Pirates of the Carribean, Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and the fireworks.

Epcot: Another one of our park days was Epcot. That wasn’t the original plan but because we had to alternate our park days due to our quarantine… the days we had available the park we had planned on visiting (Hollywood Studios) was all booked! So Epcot it was. Because Magic Kingdom was so hot we didn’t rush to Epcot in the morning and we actually didn’t get there until 2:30. It didn’t even matter. I almost passed out somewhere between Canada and the United Kingdom (ha!)

So, we literally rode the Ratatouille ride, Soarin’, and the Finding Nemo ride and then walked around the aquarium… and then left. I think we were there for two hours and I know we didn’t get the full experience of Epcot.

Chef Mickey’s: The time last we went we managed to snag reservations to Chef Mickey’s and we did it again this time. One child was living his best life. One child was into it until Donald Duck snuck up on her. One child was scared to death and stayed underneath a sweater the whole time. It was an experience.

Disney Springs: Our final day, we spent a few hours in Disney Springs. Again, we didn’t get the full experience since we had to squeeze everything into just a few days! I think Disney Springs could easily take days. But we had reservations at the Lego store to build a person, and at TRex for a meal. The kids also did Build-A-Dinos at the restaurant which is similar to (exactly the same as?) Build-A-Bear… but with dinosaurs!

We had a lot of fun and we’re already planning our next trip… it’ll definitely be in the winter time. (ha!)
