This Easter was definitely a new experience for us. In all of years of being together and especially since having kids we’ve never spent a holiday without extended family! It was a bit hard to wrap my head around this thought when the stay-at-home orders began. Sure, weekdays are okay, weekends are a bit trickier — but on holidays?! Such a sad necessity.
I was determined to make Easter day as special as possible. But honestly, as someone who celebrates this largely religious holiday — as a time to be with family and not religiously — it was difficult! The Bunny brought baskets (of course) and we had a hunt both inside and out, and we made sure to shower and dress (for photos, if I’m being honest we got back into sweats after pictures). But it was an otherwise “typical Sunday” and as great as it was I’m still slightly bitter that we missed an opportunity to be with family, a large Easter celebration with the kids, pictures with the Easter Bunny, sharing Eva’s first Easter… it just goes on and on. But! It was still an amazing day I’m determined to remember it 🙂
