February 2025.

February has come and gone and despite temperatures still being in the single digits each morning before the school bus — I can feel that spring is coming. I am so excited. But February was great, too! We had a relatively healthy month (yay!), with lots of sweet moments happening for our family of six!

Father/Daughter Dance: We started the month with our town’s annual father/daughter Valentine’s Day dance. The girls were very excited and talked about it for two weeks leading up to the main event. Sean was excited, too. 🙂

100 Days of School: As a first grader, Lola’s big project for the year is about the 100th day of school! She decided to make a butterfly with 100 pompoms. Then we got a chance to visit the school and tour the “100 Days of School” museum. It was adorable!

Basketball: All three basketball stars finished their basketball season! They all loved it and want to play again — unfortunately for me, because that sport is loud and is super overwhelming. 🙂 We had a quick break from team sports for a bit!

Cub Scouts: Javi did lots and lots with Scouts! He participated in a flag ceremony at church (and we sat in on the service), he raced his car in the Pinewood Derby, and he took a sewing class where he made a water bottle holder for his upcoming hikes.

Winter Break: Every February the kids have a Winter Break from school and I’m so happy to have them home. And then they’re home, and I get a little stir crazy from the noise! 🙂 But they had a great time. We played board games and card games, did crafts and science experiments, played in the snow and watched lots of movies, and painted nails and did lots of baking!

Boston Museum of Science: One day while the kids were home for Break, I got some library passes to the science museum! My dad came with us and the kids had a wonderful time. We even did the planetarium which — turns out, wasn’t the best idea since the girls were scared of a “lava planet” and Walker talked so much he had to leave after just a few minutes. Oops!

Maine: The final weekend of Break, we visited Sean’s parents in Maine! They set up a kitchen set, the girls did crafts, Javi played video games, they all went sledding and we had a great time! It was so cold… the ocean water was frozen!

Super bowl: Despite not having a team in the game, we had a small Super bowl party! Lola and I cheered for the Chiefs (or Taylor Swift?!) and Javi cheered for the Eagles!

Girl Scouts: Lola almost met her cookie goal! If it wasn’t for one canceled storefront (silly snowstorm!) I think she would have sold her 200 boxes! There’s always next year. She was really proud to have sold over 150 boxes though! She worked hard all month delivering them. She also got to visit the fire station and had a “twilight sleep under” with all the Girl Scouts.

Sushi: The kids have been asking Sean to make sushi, and so one night our table turned into a sushi making station! They all loved it and ate the food! Win/Win!

Smash Cake + Birthday Prep: Oh my goodness. I can’t believe we are here! But Walker turned one and helped with his birthday preparations! I made him a smash cake (actually two because the first one was a total fail), we got him a balloon and a cake, and he started opening presents a few days early!

Other Fun: Some other exciting things this month?! I continued with my Peloton workouts (yay!), read 10 books this month, we went out for Valentine’s Day, Javi visited the orthodontist (not quite ready for braces!), Lola was the only kid to get a fever (so random!), and Eva earned a “Positive Office Referral” at school for being KIND. 🙂

March (April and May), I am so ready for warmth, and sunshine, and good health. 🙂
