We got our first snowstorm last week and Javi had his very first snow day! The kids couldn’t wait to get outside to play in the snow so we went out mid-morning when it was still snowing quite a bit.
It was Eva’s first time walking in deep snow (nearly a foot!) Last year, she started walking mid-February and she was really unsteady on her feet so I held her most of the time outside. She was so excited to be out in the snow and kept yelling “noooo!” (for SNOW.) She did face plant a few times (not so into that) but she recovered herself pretty well and learned to say “brrr”. 🙂
I didn’t expect Lola to enjoy the snow as much as she did! Last year, she was NOT a fan. She was really trying hard to go sledding in the yard but since we flattened our hill (so that the grass looked nicer in the warmer months)… our sledding hill is no more! She still kept trying though. It was a funny sight. I’m hoping to take her to an actual sledding hill after the next snow storm.
And Javi was in his element! He’s hoping that his school has snow when he has recess this week. I explained that his school is 45 seconds away from the house, so most likely it has the same amount of snow as our house! Unfortunately, it’s supposed to rain so I do think most of this snow will disappear, but we’ll see!
The snow was light and fluffy so not the best for building a snowman or even sledding but it was a nice introduction to winter and we can’t wait for more snow to come! (within reason… and I hope it stops by President’s Day!)
September brought chilly mornings, lots of family time, busy schedules and birthdays!
