Mr. Walker is four months old! He is growing like crazy, wears 9-12 month clothing, size 3 diapers, eats a million times a day, holds his hands and has the sweetest smile.
He chuckles when he laughs, giggles when you touch his neck, kicks his legs with power when you try to get him dressed, and grabs onto things within his reach — especially my hair! He isn’t rolling yet which is kind of lucky for us because we can still put him down and know he’ll be right where we left him. He has sensitive skin and every time we give him a bath, he breaks out! He also has cradle cap that we’re trying to get under control.
He still has blue eyes! He spent the month with his first really bad cough — like a terrible choking cough that I brought him to the doctor for multiple times! We had to wait it out and I was so stressed. Let’s just say we got real comfortable with the Baby Frida product line. We were constantly using nose spray and the little suction thing they give you at the hospital (and this was the first baby we ever had to use it on!)
It was a month of a handful of firsts! First camping trip, first beach trip, first road trip — we went away in an RV, spent a few nights in the Cape and ended up taking a last minute (17 hour) road trip to Tennessee. He did great on all these adventures — truly a tagalong-kind-of-baby!
He’s such a curious baby and interested in everything! Any kind of movement, or sound and he’s watching. The kids have discovered he doesn’t necessarily like when they get in his face and yell “boo!” — but, like, who would?!
Oh, he also didn’t totally love dipping his toes in the ocean! His scream was… LOUD. But after a few minutes, he sat with Sean in the water and was content.
For the most part, he’s a happy guy. At least when he’s with me. Everyone else tells me when I leave the room or the house, apparently he cries. I think (and hope) that’ll stop soon! He’s obsessed with his siblings and already has a different relationship with each of them. Javi really can’t wait for him to be active and moving around independently but they snuggle together before bed while he’s watching a show. Lola wants him all day, every day. She dresses him, feeds him, knows what he needs and knows how to make him smile. Eva thinks of him as an equal. Anything she has to do (like put away her own laundry), he should do, too. 🙂 And she really wants him to talk. She calls him her little “walkie, talkie” and often tells him “he’s standing like a man” or “sitting like a man”. 🙂
He was there for all the big and small moments this past month: Father’s Day, town fireworks, kindergarten graduation, park playdates, library trips, games, competitions, splash pad, and more.
We started giving him more to eat in the hopes that he would eat less frequently. It only worked a little! Right now he has 6 oz. when he wakes up around 6AM, then 9AM, 12PM, around 3:30PM, and then before bed around 7PM. And then of course, whenever he needs a little top off, he gets that, too.
We were also able to transition him to his bedroom and his crib this month! It was a bit sad, but he’s been good in his own space and I only watch him on the monitor… sometimes. He still takes naps in our arms, of course. He also still enjoys his swing — but I’m not sure how much longer he’ll fit in it. Since we’re always on the move, he spends a good amount of time in his carseat, too! Good thing he finds it comfortable!
It was such a fun (and busy!) month with Walker!
September brought chilly mornings, lots of family time, busy schedules and birthdays!
Our littlest guy is seven months old and is a lovebug!
