Week two is down! Here’s my weekly goals check-in:
Goal #1: Declutter. I made some more progress in the land of decluttering. I feel like you can’t really tell when you’re looking around the house 🙂 It was a little crazy this week so I focused more on organizing the first floor and less on purging, but I still made 3 trips to Savers, and started selling items on Marketplace and Mercari. My progress this week consisted of swapping the kids’ closets and organizing all clothes and shoes, swapping our kitchen and playroom shelving to make things more functional, purging my scrapbooking stuff, cleaning out the front hall closet, and organizing the playroom.
Goal #2: Say no to stuff. I didn’t acquire any new stuff this week! I didn’t do any online shopping other than food items and two Covid test kits but I’m considering those “medical necessities”. On the list of things I wanted to buy but didn’t… were new bins for the playroom. I decided I want solid bins so the shelving looks a bit cleaner. So I did the second best thing which was to make paper inserts for the front of the clear plastic bins. It’s not perfect, but it’s a decent solution for now!
Goal #3: No spend challenge/Save $20K. It’s been another successful week of our no spend challenge. We didn’t get fast food, or get take out or go out to dinner. There were no random purchases made, and we added some more money to our savings ($60 a day!) I do have to admit that every day this week I debated if it was time to shop for Valentine’s Day since I have a gift card set aside to do that and I am feeling an itch to buy something… anything.
Week 1 savings: $420
Total saved: $840 (4.20% at goal!)
