The other day I shared that we went to Maine last weekend. I was nervous about Lola’s first nights away from home. She’s on a pretty good schedule and sometimes doesn’t even wake up in the middle of the night to eat. But it’s always a bit nerve-wracking to change-up the routine. Especially when the routine is still only 8 weeks old! But anyway! The first morning we woke up to snow and built a snowman! We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out at the house with Sean’s parents, making and eating yummy food, keeping Javi occupied with toys and games and making sure both Javi and Lola got all the love from their grandparents who recently sold their house that was within 2 minutes of ours to move 3.5 hours away in Maine!
The second day we were there we decided to leave the house. This is a big deal since Lola hasn’t been many places. But we brought her out to lunch, and to the beach. It was a little warm (like 40s, ha!) and I thought it would be cute to get a few pictures of Javi in the sand. Apparently, I didn’t think the outing through because it was terribly cold and windy and not enjoyable at all. I was actually miserable. I had one of those mini-temper-tantrums like I did the time Sean wanted to see the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and I was annoyed by the walk. :/
I’m sure Sean wasn’t thrilled about the walk to the ocean either because he was carrying Lola in the infant car seat! He’s a better sport than me. 🙂
Now that we’re home we’re getting back on schedule and Javi’s back at school. We’re making the transition from his crib to a toddler bed tomorrow night. I’m a little nervous about what that will mean for bedtime (and naps) and I’m trying my best to repeat “he’s two and a half, it’s time”. Though he still isn’t crawling out of his crib yet… wait, there I go again, trying to talk myself out of this plan again!
Stay tuned for how it all works out. 🙂
