I’m finally done with our Christmas shopping and now I need to get to sorting, and wrapping. Christmas with three young children is serious work! I prefer to shop in person, inside stores. So shopping completely online this year was tricky, and maybe a little less fun. But, it feels good to have the kids done. I shared my Montessori gift guide for different ages a few weeks ago, and as I was sorting through their stocking stuffers, I thought I would share some ideas here, too.
The idea of stockings (from Santa) is a controversial topic in Montessori households. Many families don’t “do” Santa. But, we do though he’s been very much downplayed this year. Javi’s concerned about Santa coming “in” the house with the virus, and Lola continues to be afraid of the idea of Santa. So we haven’t brought him up much. But our stockings will be from Santa and truth be told they are my favorite part of the gift exchange! Partly because “Santa” doesn’t wrap gifts (I HATE wrapping presents), and partly because I have such fond memories of my stocking when I was little.
So we can (and maybe will) debate Santa in another post but for now — all of these items are things that my kids will get this year in their stockings, or they are things they will receive as gifts that also happen to fit inside a stocking! (affiliate links)
I hope this gives you some fresh ideas!
Where do you keep your stocking stuffers before the big night? We have super small closets in our house so I store ours in our luggage (ha!)
