Newry, Maine.

Last summer when we were planning our Fall weekend away we settled on the White Mountains. I searched “White Mountains” on VRBO and found a cute little cabin that looked perfect! It had enough space inside, a large dining table, a cute little fire pit… so I booked it. Fast forward, four months to when we actually had to plan out the trip details and the drive and I realized the cute little cabin was not in the White Mountains… but in Sunday River, Maine! 🙂

The kids were so happy to leave home and stay at a house with bunk beds — that seems to be their #1 criteria in a home rental. They also loved playing Monopoly, going for scenic drives, and doing a little hiking!

I tried to pack pretty light, so this trip will also be remembered as the trip when all the kids ran out of clean clothes. 🙂

Unfortunately, early-November in Sunday River, Maine is after foliage season but too early for snow season — so not a ton was open. We had to eat at the same restaurant a few times because there wasn’t anywhere else to eat.

The White Mountains were just a quick drive away so one day we drove around a bit and made some stops. The kids loved seeing the mountains and jumping around.

We loved our weekend away and now we’re trying to decide on going back to the mountains in the summer or if we should do our annual Cape trip!
