This year was so special with Javi, Lola and Eva! We managed to do advent activities every day, read stories most nights, visit Santa, decorate the house, pick out a tree, mail Christmas cards, bake cookies, make crafts, host a party, ate too much chocolate, drank too much hot cocoa, watched SO many Christmas movies and so much more. I wanted to remember our Christmas season so here are a few shots:
We visited the Fire Station when Santa was there! Javi was in heaven, Lola was petrified.
This is Javi telling Santa that all he wants for Christmas is a Ryan Treasure Box.
We managed to get all five of us in one photo! Expectations were high for this shot and my dreams came crashing down when Javi and Lola didn’t want to pose. But, it’s not bad at all looking back at it.
We picked out our tree!
We went to the town tree lighting, too!
After the fire station Santa didn’t go so well for Lola, I decided to just take Javi to a local fair to see Santa for storytime. I didn’t know there would be photos with Santa, too! Unfortunately, things got a bit sticky when Santa asked Javi what he wanted for Christmas and Javi said “REMEMBER?! I told you?!” — that’s when I learned you should only take kids to see Santa ONCE.
We also went as a family to Fatima Shrine to walk around and see the lights.
And for the third year in a row we hosted a small Open House on Christmas Eve and Santa came!
This month was a total whirlwind but so much fun. I’m learning to balance my expectations 🙂 and realizing, looking back, that it really does all work out (and doesn’t need to be instagram-worthy 24/7). 🙂
September brought chilly mornings, lots of family time, busy schedules and birthdays!
