We’ve had a busy month and it’s not over yet! But I do want to get up my Year In Review post as soon as possible so I feel like I should recap December, first! Here goes:
There were lots of school obligations this month: from class parties to volunteering. I started my iron infusions every other day to increase my numbers, and I also started physical therapy. The kids have been teetering between health and illness all month long (with no end in sight!) Sean continues to cough from his pneumonia diagnosis around Thanksgiving! I met Lola’s school team about her new IEP and it all went well. Eva increased her speech sessions to three times a week. Report cards came out and they were all great! I helped my mom with her December craft fair and it was a huge success! We had Disney on Ice, a hotel stay, ate at tons of restaurants and continued the every day stuff like school, work, and extracurriculars! We are exhausted.
What else? Well, we have two basketball players in the house! Lola has practice once a week on Saturday mornings (8AM which is, in fact, a terrible time!) and Javi has practice on Tuesday nights and Saturdays at noon (also terrible times for us!). We also have a brand new Girl Scout on our hands! She has been wanting to join Girl Scouts for a while but I needed to wait until something else ended (Cheer) to make sure we had time in our schedule. She is selling cookies!
Here’s a little video she put together on the first day of cookie sales! Cookies are sold until March so there’s still time. 🙂
We also have a Cub Scout who has been working hard this month! He’s earned two badges (!), decorated the float for the town Christmas parade and then got to ride on it, and had a fun holiday party (with Santa!):
We had a fun weekend of making waffles for breakfast! The kids LOVED it.
Eva’s very into baking and crafts these days so she has been busy:
Of course we did all things Christmas! From decorating, to Santa, to special outings, book advent and more — we prepped, planned and enjoyed Christmas!
We brought the kids to a Christmas cookie decorating party with my friends and their kids! Everyone had so much fun. Tons of sugar was consumed!
On Christmas Eve we went out for Chinese food and then came home and read T’was the Night Before Christmas. 🙂 The kids made sure to leave out carrots, cookies and milk.
We had an amazing Christmas day and then wrapped it all up so that we could celebrate Lola’s birthday!
We went to a trampoline park during Christmas break — the ICEEs were a hit:
Sean’s parents came down from Maine and took us to Edaville! It was so much fun and the kids never stopped smiling.
And tomorrow, on the final day of the year, we are taking the kids bowling — they have literally been asking to go since last February when I tried to take them during their winter break from school! We showed up and the wait for a lane was multiple hours and I told them… no way! 🙂 But we have a lane reserved (gotta love reservations!) and we are all set to go. They’re going to be so excited!
Traditions, stockings and Santa! Plus, a peek at the stockings for our three oldest kids!
Having a baby at Christmastime is just magical. Here are some gift ideas for the…
Eva June turns five! It started with an idea and ended with a surprise party!
If you're anything like me, you like to know what people actually buy their kids…
