This weekend is my first weekend away from Lola (and just my third away from Javi!). Since I was missing such a big holiday (ha) I wanted to make sure we took some pictures in their St. Patrick’s Day outfits last week. I didn’t want to miss out! It was a spur of the moment photoshoot. We threw their outfits on around 4PM and hoped for the best.
I was pretty happy with some of the pictures we managed to get. They are the first (of many, I’m sure) of them posed in a chair together. Javi was thrilled to have Lola sit “in his lap” and couldn’t get over how little her “toesies” were. 🙂 He kept touching them and saying “awww, toesies”.
He didn’t totally get that he was Lola’s sole support system while on his lap. He let her drop a few inches, a few times. She was such a good sport about the whole thing. She never cried or looked unhappy. She just stared at him in awe.
When I’m alone with Javi, I think he’s small. I notice that the top of his head no longer fits beneath my chin when he sits in my lap, he weighs more, his feet touch my shins when we snuggle. But he’s still a baby. When I’m alone with Lola, I think she’s big. She’s grown in length, and she weighs more than when we met. But when they’re side by side — Javi’s an adult and Lola’s a peanut. Isn’t that funny?
May the sun shine all day long, everything go right and nothing wrong. May those you love bring love back to you, and may all the wishes you wish come true.
