September brought chilly mornings, lots of family time, busy schedules and birthdays! I turned 38 and Sean and Lola made me a cake!
I started the month with Covid… such fun! And once we got over that hump, the kids passed around some random fever virus. But they did pretty well with bouncing back and no one missed too much school or fun!
Cub Scouts started for Javi. He’s considered a Bear now! He’s also taking swim lessons once a week. In addition to Cheer, Lola is taking swim lessons, she dances once a week and she is doing Girl Scouts. Eva is doing ballet and gymnastics! Basically our Mondays-Fridays after school is… full.
Eva started the month with her first day of school! The other kids technically started in August, but Eva started a week later. This year, she’s in pre-K and goes to school five days a week. Her school day is 12:30-3:15 which is taking some getting used to. We fill our mornings with some house chores, shelf work, playing outside and we joined library play group every week. She also has speech therapy 3x a week.
Lola spent her entire month… at Cheer or doing things for Cheer. She had practice every Tuesday and Thursday for two hours a day. She dressed in Cheer spirit wear every Friday. She had Sunday morning football games to cheer at. She cheered at a high school Thursday night “under the lights” game. And mid-month, her team took first place in their first competition of the season. She was pretty much always dressed to cheer!
Javi had a big month! He lost another tooth, got a haircut, and he turned 9! He’s still in a phase of “no photos” so it’s rare that he’ll pose these days especially without complaints. But he spends his day collecting and reorganizing Pokemon cards, reading a chapter book a night, and complaining about 3rd grade homework (even though it’s easy for him and he finishes within 20 minutes!)
And of course, we know that Walker was here… rolling and growing every second of every day!
In all our spare time, we set up a new play space for the kids, borrowed and read over 100 books from the library (!), got a new jogging stroller for Walker, went to a scrapbooking expo in New Hampshire, the girls went to a touch-a-truck and got to go inside a firetruck, got faces painted at a fall fair, sold a lot of popcorn with Cub Scouts, hosted Javi’s birthday party with friends at Urban Air, and played outside a lot!
Onto October…! (It’s almost my favorite time of the year!)
Our littlest guy is seven months old and is a lovebug!
Every October 1st, I give the kids Boo Baskets. They've become a favorite tradition and…
Ah, this has been the first month that I'm feeling a little behind on Walker's…
