Another look back at little Lola’s month! This time not so late in the delivery of this post, but unfortunately I had to abandon all hope with her little “monthly photo shoot”. I won’t lie, it was a sad but freeing day when I finally gave up on Javi’s and I feel the same about Lola’s. Those are not enjoyable! I don’t know how so many people get such great pictures but in our house it always results in tears. It’s not like I don’t take enough pictures of her. I take 100 pictures A DAY. But I will admit it’s adorable to see her growth in the same spot every month. Oh well!
Here’s S I X months with Lola Rey! She’s such a little joy and I can’t believe how much she’s grown in the last month. Time moves quickly and slowly at the same time!
This has been such a month of growth for Lola. She’s gone from an infant to a baby. I don’t know that there’s really a difference there but she’s just doing SO MUCH more than she was, even 1 month ago. We had some “firsts” this month, including Memorial Day, Father’s Day and a special Father’s Day “Daddy and Donuts” event at school. So cute!
Lola has 5 bottles a day, each 7 ounces PLUS some baby food mixed in. She continues to love all fruits but she’s coming around to veggies. She LOVES carrots. She’s really difficult to feed. She’s so distracted and curious by EVERYTHING.
We went to Maine and the Cape this month. It was Lola’s first time at the beach and WOW, did she hate the ocean. She didn’t mind watching it but the second her toes hit the water she screamed and cried and it was the end of the world. I was a bit relieved since Javi and Sean love the water… I mean, I want her to love the water too but I also wouldn’t mind some company on the shore. 🙂
She’s such a smiley little girl. People always comment about how good-natured she is and how great of a baby she is. I think she’s a bit easier than Javi was but I also acknowledge she’s my second and I know what I’m doing now. But at the same time, I think Javi was good-natured, too! Either way, I love her smiles and her interest in EVERYTHING.
She’s doing so well sleeping through the night and even napping during the day. There are some days she only wants to nap in our arms but I really don’t mind this. Otherwise I can get her to sleep in her crib and she uses her pacifier still. She’s so cute when she sucks her thumb.
Lola went to a parade this month for Memorial Day and wasn’t so sure about it. She liked the commotion but it was SO cold. She loves her stroller and going for walks though!
She’s still obsessed with everything Javi does. Wherever he is in the room, her eyes are on him. If he talks, she smiles. He sings, she smiles. He jumps, she smiles. I think he has an admirer but I’m pretty sure it’s mutual. When he wakes up in the morning, he goes and checks on her (much to our dismay). He usually wakes her up by doing this but she opens her eyes and immediately smiles at him. When he walks in the house it’s all “HI LOLA!” and “HOW WAS YOUR DAY, LOLA?” 🙂
When we took her to the doctor, he said she is off the charts! She’s about 18 lbs and 28 inches long! After her shots, which she SCREAMED about, we had to give her motrin a few times. She doesn’t take medicine as easily as Javi… but she’s still okay about it. I think she’s also teething but no teeth YET!
She’s been using her walker and her bouncer and LOVES them. She only likes them for a few minutes each. She’s definitely not one you can just leave in there and walk away from. She wants to be in on the action and know where everyone is. She doesn’t like to be left or trapped. She much prefers to be rolling around on the ground.
That said… she is ROLLING and sitting up. She topples at times but she’s doing really well! She’s SO strong! 🙂
