Six Months with Walker Phoenix.

Ah, this has been the first month that I’m feeling a little behind on Walker’s recap! He’s 6 months old but teetering on the six and a half months old line and I’m not sure I even remember… a few weeks ago. Isn’t that crazy? It happens that quickly. I get so used to how he is right now that I forget just a few short weeks ago.

He visited the doctor this past month for his 6 month well visit and he was… *surprise* off the charts! At almost 24 pounds and 28 inches long, he’s in the 99th percentile for weight and the 94th percentile for height. I can definitely tell because he’s hard to hold! Plus everyone stops me when I’m out and about to tell me how big of a baby he is. Like I don’t know! Though they also usually comment on his beautiful blue eyes and the fact that he looks like the literal gerber baby.

I gave in to some “baby holders” this month and have been heavily relying on the little activity center we were given as a hand me down. I’ve also tried putting him in the Sit Me Up although it’s become increasingly clear that his body isn’t built for a Sit Me Up. He’s always getting stuck in it!

We’ve been tasting some new foods this month! His first few foods were carrot, sweet potato, green beans, apple, banana and pear. He was into this the whole process but preferred the fruits.

We also managed to secure our first set of twinning outfits between Walker and Javi! Javi was very into this!

He’s a total smiley guy (until he’s not!) I tried to finish his nursery, but that’s still very much up in the air. I think he needs a dresser and that might help a lot. Right now, his room is basically just his crib which we decided to move to a different wall because originally he was sleeping along the wall that is shared with Javi’s room. And Javi does gymnastics or something as he falls asleep so every night he was waking up Walker with his antics. Since we moved his crib, it’s been better!

He loves the kids so much and the transition to back to school has definitely been noticed! He watches the bus take them away each morning a little confused but when we pick them up every afternoon, he screams (in the best way!) Though I think he does enjoy the slower pace and the fact that I can hold him uninterrupted!

Since he started eating, we bought him a highchair that he totally loves to sit in. He loves being a part of our meals and watching everyone. He’s really loud at meal times (and just in general) but we’re working on it. 🙂 We joke that he has a lot to say for such a little guy. It’s pretty funny because if everyone is quiet, he’s quiet but the minute a conversation starts… so does he.

He loves being sung to, sleeping in his swing, has stopped using a pacifier, loves cold teethers, is wearing size 4 diapers and 18 month clothing, drinks 6 bottles a day, going for walks, and watching the kids play outside!

We are keeping him forever! 🙂
