Toddler Life: Sports class.

A few weeks ago Sean and I were talking about how much energy Javi has. I mean — he has a ton. During the week, this energy is directed into proper channels since he’s in school. He spends a lot of time outside, playing with kids, and in general is very stimulated from 7AM-4PM. Then he comes home and while one may think he would crash… he doesn’t. I swear he’s like the energizer bunny. So… I’m sure you can imagine that on weekends, when all we want to do is relax and what we have to do is errands… his energy levels are through the roof. So enter: sports.

We signed him up a few weeks ago. It’s an “All Sports” class for kids ages 2.5-3.5 and it’s 45 minutes every Saturday. He’s loving everything about it. Of course — there’s a few things I would change. 🙂 You know, like the parent-participation piece. For the record, parent-participation was not expected but since every other child has parents with them, Javi also wanted us on the turf.

Every week he learns and plays a few different sports. So far, he’s done soccer, track and field, frisbee, and obstacle courses. The smiles and squeals are so worth it. 🙂 I think sports are something Javi’s going to want in his life.

Unfortunately, he’s just as pumped after his class than as before…. so we’re still looking for something to tire him out. Any suggestions?
