Valentine’s Day, 2018

I feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing and loving valentines in my life. Today’s temperature was nearly 55 degrees! So we got outside for a few minutes (without jackets!) and took some pictures together.

Javi was excited for Valentine’s Day. Clearly, he doesn’t remember it from last year but he was thrilled to make all his friends valentines for their classroom exchange. When we picked him up from school he, IMMEDIATELY, asked for his bag of valentines and made me go through each one with him. His smile lit up every time he asked me “who’s this?” and I told him the name on the card. He’d say “MY friend!” 🙂

I wanted to do something special for him for Valentine’s Day but I wasn’t totally sure what that was. I know I don’t want to give gifts and small tokens just to do it so I tried to avoid the seasonal aisle at the grocery store last weekend. One thing is for sure — this guy LOVES stickers. Oh, and ice cream with m&ms. So, we gifted him a pack of stickers and a little container of mini m&ms. He was IN LOVE. The stickers have already been used up and the m&ms were eaten in his special ice cream dessert after dinner. He was over the moon excited.

I’m not sure how people get such great and clear pictures of their toddlers? THEY NEVER STOP MOVING.

2018 marks year 11 of my relationship with Sean (7 of marriage!). It’s gone by in a flash. As I was looking back through photos of us, to post on instagram (gotta love those old pics!), I found it pretty amazing that such an amount of time has passed. Is that a thing with getting older? You just talk and talk about how much time has passed? I think it’s really noticeable when you’re surrounded by people you love and things you enjoy. I want to soak in every minute AND stop time in its tracks.

And of course, I can’t forget about my littlest valentine. Even though she’s too little to know that today was special she was sportin’ a heart outfit and was extra cuddly. That’s the best gift of all. 🙂

How was your Valentine’s Day?
