A Spring Recap

We’re well into the summer over here but I never took the time to recap our Spring! It was a very busy but fun season and I don’t want to forget it so — here goes!

We’re well into the summer over here but I never took the time to recap our Spring! It was a very busy but fun season and I don’t want to forget it so — here goes!

We participated in our town Easton egg hunt. The Bunny was there (Javi was ALL over this; Lola was SO done), and so was the town police who gave tours of their cruisers. I’m not even sure who Javi was more impressed to meet (the bunny or the police)!

He even got face paint — it was supposed to be Spiderman. aha!

Like in the past, we made sure to visit the Boston Marathon Start line the day before the actual Marathon. It’s one of our favorite things to do!

On Easter Day we stayed in jammies most of the morning and early afternoon. We made sure to have a hunt, do a footprint craft and dye eggs. Both Javi and Lola were so happy! We spent the afternoon/evening with my parents and family where they did another hunt!

The weather didn’t seem to cooperate this year! We were still wearing winter coats in May. One weekend, there was a petting zoo nearby and we took the kids despite the freezing temps and the rain. Lola fell asleep in the car, but Javi was so thrilled to play with baby goats!

Lola grew and grew during these months. She also spent the majority of these months super sick. It started with Fifths and two weeks later was Hand, Foot and Mouth (which, by the way, I always thought was the same thing!). She spent a lot of time at the doctor’s which she HATES but also a lot of time at home, hanging out and getting well. She finished her time at daycare since she’ll start at Javi’s school in the fall and Sean joined her in her classroom on her last week for a “Pizza party”.

One of the weekends that Lola was sick, Javi participated in our school’s Fun Run. I’m not sure he had fun since he left in tears (he didn’t want to have to run around the track TWO TIMES!) but we tried.

I brought the kids to their first carnival when it was in town! Javi loved the rides, Lola was too little for most of them. We also went bowling for the first time. Javi was surprisingly good although he seems to drop/bang the bowling ball a lot. 🙂

Sean took the kids for some outdoor adventures a few weekends in a row while I wrapped up the end of the school year and wrote Reports. The kids, apparently, love hiking and being outside. They don’t get that from me 🙂

Javi’s self-portrait was also in the school art show! It looks just like him (or Macklemore…).

All in all, it was a great season and we’re excited to be in the middle of summer with nicer, warmer weather and time to just relax and be home.
