Dandelions are popping up nearly everywhere right now. Unfortunately, for Eva whose most favorite “flower” happens to be a dandelion, they are not growing in the one place she would love them to grow — our yard! We spray (I know… I know…) and much to her disappointment, she cannot just run out every day and pick dandelions to her heart’s content.
She notices dandelions wherever we go — driving in the car, on a walk, at the playground. Her whole face lights up when we let her pick them. So when I saw this quick little activity on social media, I knew it was right up her alley!
DANDELION CRAFT:
All I did was find a photo of a lion, print it on 8.5×11 paper, tape it on top of a piece of cardboard, and use a pencil to poke holes!
Then Walker and I walked to pick her up from preschool and watched her walk home SO happily, collecting her dandelions. The stems fit perfectly inside the pencil-poked holes filling out the lion’s mane!
The best part? We tossed Monday’s (dead) dandelions and used the same lion on Tuesday to collect new ones!
