Eva is eleven months old! I can’t believe she’s almost made an entire trip around the sun. It’s amazing. I feel like we just got her 🙂
She is cruising! She learned to go up and down the single step into the big kid playroom and she’s a fast crawler. She furniture walks and can stand up and let go. She thinks she is SO COOL when she does that and giggles very proudly.
She loves opening and closing cabinets and drawers — which means her little fingers have had some injuries! When she cries… she CRIES. She’ll let out a single cry at first and then holds her breath for an incredibly long time in order to let out a second, blood curdling cry. It’s very sad. She recovers with hugs and kisses. She loves ice packs but never ices her injury — just uses them to chew. She still has two teeth (bottom, front.)
This month we went to the pumpkin patch, picked out halloween costumes, went to the drive-thru jack-o-lantern spectacular at the zoo and went to the White Mountains in NH for 4 days. She’s along for the ride in most cases but at times can be very opinionated about what she does and doesn’t want. I wouldn’t say she’s a “go with the flow” kind of baby. She’s officially wearing shoes outside, hates socks and is in size 12-18 month clothes.
She wakes up around 6:30AM and comes into our bed until 7AM. I like to squeeze out every last second of snooze time possible but she likes to roll around me and smoosh her face into mine to try to get me to open my eyes. When she’s successful, she smiles BIG. At 7AM, Sean takes her downstairs and makes breakfast and she has a bottle and plays in the kitchen. We eat around 8 and she loves scrabbled eggs and cheerios. She’s not a huge fan of the mornings that we eat pancakes or waffles. After, we usually play on the floor for a while and then around 10, she has another bottle and takes a nap. She won’t nap in her crib so she usually sleeps in her infant seat on the dining room table. Next month, I think I’ll work on appropriate naps. 🙂
She’ll sleep until 11:30 or so and then we get ready for lunch. She likes to eat whatever we’re having! At 1PM, we usually go outside and she’ll have another bottle and then she LOVES her swing on the swing set. She also got a new, smaller climbing structure with a slide. She hasn’t learned to climb up and isn’t quite ready to slide down the slide by herself, but I’m sure we’ll get there. Around 3, she takes another nap and when she wakes up she plays and we eat dinner around 5:30. Then it’s bath time, a bit more playing, followed by a bottle (this time in my arms) and then bed around 7:30PM.
We have a pretty sweet routine down!
