Extracurricular Activities.

This week Javi turned 4! Apparently four is the age of extra curricular activities because it seems he wants to be doing EVERYTHING! In fairness, he wouldn’t know any of these extra classes even existed if we didn’t tell him about them… but the second we bring it up, he wants IN!

It all started with Karate. I thought it may help with his listening skills (it hasn’t), and discipline (it hasn’t), and that he would learn to be safe with his body (nope!). But he loves it — even though the teacher had to call his name a million times in the first class. He was thrilled when during the second class he got to test for his first belt!

On Saturday mornings in September we’ve been hanging out on the soccer field! Lola’s a fan of this class because she can participate on the sidelines! Javi’s also REALLY invested in this so there’s no problem with listening or following or even scoring goals. He’s already gotten the hang of it!

Next Saturday soccer ends and on Sunday Basketball begins! He doesn’t know about it yet though. We signed him up and it’s part of his birthday present we’ll give him at his party on the 28th!

We’re working on getting Lola into some type of class but she’s still a little young!
