Family time.

Sean losing his job last month has been positive in terms of family time. We are thoroughly enjoying our spontaneous days together. It’s never happened before, and with bittersweet hearts, we KNOW (fingers crossed) it can’t happen for much longer.

Sean losing his job last month has been positive in terms of family time. We are thoroughly enjoying our spontaneous days together. It’s never happened before, and with bittersweet hearts, we KNOW (fingers crossed) it can’t happen for much longer. So we are soaking up every day we’re together. From story time, to outings, to car naps, to lunches together, to watching movies — it’s all been fun.

I bought this pool off Amazon. The day I blew it up for the first time was a disaster! The hose wasn’t long enough so I had to move the pool, then the pool was too heavy to move back once there was an inch of water inside of it and THEN since it was under a tree the caterpillars kept pooping in it! We had to empty it out, change out the hose, move it, and fill it up again. An hour later, he finally got his feet wet. But at the end of the day, Javi couldn’t stop talking about the pool and his “water slide”. It’s nice to know he only sees the positive things that happen around him.

Javi’s been such a helper around the house or rather on the outside of the house. He’s loving driving the tractor to cut the grass and his nightly watering of the planets and flowers. I think Sean likes his little helper though he’s made a few comments that it goes a lot quicker and he stays a lot drier by himself. 🙂

We got Javi his first library card! Honestly, I didn’t know all the benefits of the library! But we’ve been doing something within the library parameters every week and it’s been great (and free!). We’ve done story times inside, at the fire station, a library petting zoo, a drama show. Below are some pictures of us watching a traveling theater group. It wasn’t necessarily something that is up my alley, or Sean’s, but Javi was into it — maybe just because it meant a later bedtime and there were tons of kids around. We’ll never know!

We’ve gotten into a little rhythm together. We switch off who gets up with both kids, and the other one of us gets to sleep in a bit longer. It’s nice to share the responsibilities of cleaning and laundry and feeding and changing Lola. I mean, it always happens but now more so since neither one of us has ANYWHERE to go. It’s almost like an endless vacation… but with the fear of one day running out of money.

We’ve taken a few other day trips that I want to share, Javi’s played in water nearly every day and of course I need to blog about Father’s Day, the 4th of July, our time in Maine and Lola turning 6 months!

Stay tuned!
