Here’s a look back at our February!
The first few weeks were filled with all things Valentine’s Day! We decorated, left the kids love notes each day, put together love baskets, made valentines — it was so much fun.
We can’t forget about the father/daughter dance!
This year I made the kids their school valentines to exchange with friends! I used canva and they each chose their theme. Eva wanted penguins, Lola wanted Taylor Swift, and Javi wanted his valentines to have a pink South American tree frog on them, ha!
The day before Valentine’s Day (technically, Galentine’s Day!) I put together a little party for them — cookie decorating and a craft which was complemented by some balloons and a festive dollar store table cloth. They thought it was amazing!
The craft was a little box kit from Target and they each got to decorate a frame with stickers. So easy!
Lola had a fun month! She finished up her basketball season which she really loved. She also continued her cookie sales! She was invited to a classmate’s birthday party where she got to play in the arcade, on inflatables and had soda (sprite!) for the first time! She thought she was very grown up. We also went to a fundraiser at Urban Air and she climbed the rock wall for the first time!
Javi was busy with Scouts! We went to his annual Blue and Gold ceremony where he was given an award for January’s Pinewood Derby win. He also got a haircut (finally). Sean traveled for work one week, and while the girls were at dance, Javi and I went out to dinner (first time, just us!) and he tried fried ice cream. He wasn’t totally a fan. He also finished his swim lessons — we’ll start back up in the summer.
I had lots of one-on-one time with Eva in February! We snuggled, watched movies, went to the playground — and spent a lot of time at the doctors! She ended up having strep throat and fifth’s disease (at the same time!) — but it took 3 visits to the doctor and an eventual trip to Urgent Care on a Sunday to finally test positive for strep! She’s finally on the mend (as I’m writing this, it’s nearly April!)
Some other notable things this month were: a maple sugar tour with Cub Scouts, February school vacation week, seeing Wonka in the theater (Javi and Sean loved it, Lola and I could have done without it, and Eva said it was too long), the kids took an art class, and we spent our last day as a family of 5 — and went to the hospital on February 29th to have a baby. 🙂
Traditions, stockings and Santa! Plus, a peek at the stockings for our three oldest kids!
Having a baby at Christmastime is just magical. Here are some gift ideas for the…
Eva June turns five! It started with an idea and ended with a surprise party!
