On the first day of the year we got to celebrate Lola’s FIFTH birthday with family! I say it every year and I’ll say it again… her birthday is during a busy time of year. So, we are so grateful to everyone who came to wish her a happy birthday!
I made sure to stash away every ounce of Christmas on December 26th so that when she woke up on her birthday (the 27th) it was all about Lola and birthday and balloons! We spent her actual birthday at Disney on Ice which she LOVED. Then her party was the following weekend. It was low-key but so much fun. She requested pasta so we got food from Olive Garden (it was the only place that was open on New Years Day!) and then had a delicious cake after singing happy birthday!
Of course, she loved opening presents. She still requested babies, babies and more babies! I requested… not babies. 🙂
I just can’t believe she’s FIVE! Lola is funny, creative, and helpful! Her personality has changed so much in the last few months. She loves giving us a play by play of school every day — which she loves. She talks about her friends, loves going to dance, can sing any T. Swift song, loves putting on makeup and painting her nails, always wants to be in a tank top, has discovered “being alone in her room” where she plays music loudly and sings, is always ready to give a hug or a kiss or tuck someone in under a blanket, and is such a good sister! She’s persistent, determined and so smart! She knows most letters, some sounds, is always writing, drawing, coloring, counting… and recently showed off her skill of reciting the pledge of allegiance! She’s so sweet and so full of energy — unless she’s cuddling on the couch, sucking her thumb — then, she wants to be quiet and alone! 🙂
