We were able to quarantine for two weeks so that we could visit Sean’s parents in Maine for an early Thanksgiving. It was very nice to get away!
We were practically in tears at the amount of stuff we’ve narrowed down as necessities for quick trips. We remember when we first had Javi — our car would be filled with luggage and baby contraptions just to leave home for a day. Now we have our packing down to an art — with three kids! Of course, the toddler toilet is a must-have for the kids since running into fast food restaurants to pee is only a past time during Covid!
Before we celebrated Thanksgiving, we celebrated Eva’s birthday! She was very excited to have another birthday song sung to her, and even more for her fancy cake!
Once we celebrated her birthday, we moved onto Thanksgiving! 🙂
The kids loved the time with grandparents — hot chocolate, play-doh, puzzles, movies, coloring, dolls, legos, ice cream and finger paint — the list goes on!
Eventually we needed to go for a walk — because… three kids five and under (!) so we went for a short hike. The interesting thing was that we were in the middle of the woods — on the ocean! I’ve never experienced that before. I kept telling the kids “stay on the path or you’ll fall into the ocean!”
It was nice to get some fresh (cold!) air in our systems. It helped me remember that the cold weather is indeed coming our way!
I hope you feel excited about your Thanksgiving day plans, whatever they may be!
