November Activities And Shelf Work.

Here is our work shelf for November! On it we have some themed-books, sorting objects, spooning, pouring, making clay turkeys with feathers, parts of a tree puzzle, card making station, DIY dressing frames, and sweeping pom poms.

Here are some other activities we did this November:

Art: Cover the table with craft or butcher paper, grab some art supplies (markers, paints, feathers, glue, glitter… you name it) and start decorating. We traced hands and made some “turkeys”.

Smashing pumpkins: Leftover pumpkins from Halloween? Grab a rubber mallet, put them in a cardboard box and let them go crazy. The kids loved this activity! An added bonus is once the pumpkins are opened, you can put them in the woods and let the animals eat them!

Lint roller and pom poms: Sometimes it’s the simplest activities that get a lot of interest! Throw the pom poms around, and then pick them up with a lint roller! This zero-prep activity is exciting and pulling the pom poms OFF the roller is excellent for developing fine motor skills.

Parts of a turkey: For older kids, making these small nomenclature books is all the rage — especially if you give them a stapler to put a book together. You can find free versions online and they are so fun. It’s identifying parts, practicing reading, coloring, cutting and assembling the book.
