November Highlights.

Let’s catch up about November!

November has moved aside but not before being quite memorable as the month I just couldn’t get my immune system to cooperate. But we can talk about the highlights first. 🙂

Javi spent his month doing all things: Cub Scouts. He sold popcorn, did a day of archery, went hiking, made holiday card for soldiers — but unfortunately missed out on the Spartan Kids Race at Fenway and a Fire Department visit because he was sick! He also read about 12 books, moved up a level in swim class, went to three birthday parties for friends, went golfing, sewed a pillow, and got some nunchucks from the arcade. They lasted a good five days before they were taken away.

Lola earned a medal for her Girl Scout Troop’s scarecrow contest display. She also went to an ice cream social with her Troop. She was invited to a new friend’s birthday party, and spent an afternoon bowling. Since Cheer ended, she picked up a weekly gymnastics class which she’s loving. And I love it because it’s at the same time as Eva’s class so it’s an easy drop off/pick up situation. She started putting her face in the water during swim class. I had her reading assessed at Kumon but decided not to sign her up… but she’s been reading nonstop! She was also a big part of every aspect of our Thanksgiving celebration and loved every second of it all.

This month Eva (very easily) convinced Sean to take her out for a daddy/daughter date one day. She made Halloween cookies, well after Halloween. She continued to enjoy her weekly gymnastics class, and school! She got her hair cut, and her nails done. She was invited to join a friend during his gymnastics class (and now wants to go to that every week!), and was invited to an arcade birthday party. Plus, not to bury the lead… but, she turned five!

Walker is cruising! He lived through his first presidential election (yikes!), Eva’s 5th birthday, and first Thanksgiving! He smiled the whole month, ate lots of new foods, and now travels around the house like he owns the place.

Like I mentioned, I was so sick this month. Multiple trips to urgent care concluded I had repeat double ear infections and the October antibiotics for my ruptured ear drums didn’t cure the infection so I was prescribed another 10 day treatment and spent the entire month… not being able to hear. Anything! Not to mention the pneumonia and one lucky day, I woke up with pink eye. So fun! Sean was also traveling for work during this time so it was a particularly low time for me.

But it wasn’t all bad! We celebrated my grandmother’s birthday. Sean and I went out for a date night and out with friends. We were able to take the kids to see Moana the day before it opened in theaters. The election spun me for a loop but I ended up our purging and painting our kitchen cabinets to keep my mind off things… took a few weeks and everyone’s help to finish! We threw Eva a surprise 5th birthday party with her friends from school. We went to 3 parent/teacher conferences and they all seem to be doing great things in school. I also got to join Lola in her classroom for the first time when we celebrated her Fall Festival. Oh, and we hosted Thanksgiving, I shopped till I dropped on Black Friday, and I helped my mom host a table at a craft fair on the last day of the month.

There’s more to come about November! Stay tuned for Walker’s nine month update, Eva’s 5th birthday post and a post about our Thanksgiving!
