Sibling gifts from new baby.

I’m sure you’ve heard of “push presents” (something the dad gifts the mom) OR of “sibling gifts” (a new baby giving something to their new older siblings)! It’s nothing new. But they are cute gestures (unnecessary, maybe) but very sweet.

I’m sure you’ve heard of “push presents” (something the dad gifts the mom) OR of “sibling gifts” (a new baby giving something to their new older sibling)! It’s nothing new. But they are cute gestures (unnecessary, maybe) but very sweet. I thought a lot about what the baby would give Javi and Lola upon meeting them and here’s what I’ve come up with:

They’ll each get a t-shirt declaring their “big” sibling role (some ideas for a brother // sister). I got these (along with a matching “little sister” shirt for the baby) a few months ago. What I didn’t think about, when I purchased them in the SUMMER is that now it’s nearly WINTER. 🙂 But I think for a few photos, they won’t freeze!

Next up, they are each getting a book. Our kids LOVE books. When Lola was born, Javi got a different one in English and Spanish. But this time around, Javi is getting You’re the Biggest and Lola is getting I’m a big sister.

And lastly, they are each getting a kid-friendly camera. I think this idea is the cutest because while everyone else is taking pictures of the new baby — they’ll be able to take their very own (or just play with their new “toy”)! Either way, it’s a win-win!

I’ve decided the t-shirts will go with them in their suitcase and they will wear them to the hospital and the book and camera will be wrapped and ready for them to open upon meeting her in the hospital. 🙂 I’m so excited to meet the baby and for J+L to meet her, too!
