Time for school!

Javi AND Lola started at Montessori school two weeks ago! It’s Javi’s third year, second in a Children’s House classroom and it’s Lola’s first year there in a Toddler room. We are so excited to have them in the same place as are they and I’m selfishly so excited because I get to sneak peeks of them during the day.

Javi AND Lola started at Montessori school two weeks ago! It’s Javi’s third year, second in a Children’s House classroom and it’s Lola’s first year there in a Toddler room. We are so excited to have them in the same place as are they and I’m selfishly so excited because I get to sneak peeks of them during the day (since I work there, too). PLUS now our commute is less stressful (though just as long and LOUD) since I’m not rushing elsewhere to pick up someone! It’s a win-win.

Lola started first! She had 3 days of “phase-in”. The idea is that a parent or caregiver stays in the classroom with her for a short amount of time and leaves periodically so she gets used to being in the classroom with new adults. Sean did this and he was sent out of the room within just a few minutes on the first day. He wasn’t ever asked to come back! She doesn’t have much language but it’s very clear she LOVES it. We’re so happy!

Javi started on what was Lola’s third day of school. He’s in a 3-6 year old classroom in his second year. He’s thrilled to be back on the playground, having snack with friends and is already bringing so much home. He’s interested in numbers, letters, sounds, reading, Spanish, singing — the list goes on. Unfortunately, he’s also already brought home a head cold too — so he’s currently resting up. 🙂

How’s your back to school routine going?
