Eight months with Eva June.

She’s growing like a weed! I have no idea how much Eva weighs or how long she is (I didn’t even try to measure her) but we’ll find out soon enough when we visit the pediatrician.

She’s growing like a weed! I have no idea how much Eva weighs or how long she is (I didn’t even try to measure her) but we’ll find out soon enough when we visit the pediatrician. But I do know that she’s in size 12 months for clothes and size 3 diapers! So, she’s no longer the 5 pounder she started out as! I think she also has been experiencing some seasonal allergies so she’s full of sneezes!

This month we went on our first trip as a family of five. I’m not totally convinced she loved the trip but she definitely enjoyed observing us all in a new environment. She’s totally aware of what’s going on now and lately I’ve been noticing her eyes shifting toward me as if she’s looking at my reaction to learn how she, also, should react.

She is rolling over — front to back AND back to front. It happened overnight. One day she didn’t roll and the next she rolled right off the couch. (She holds grudges, too and was VERY disappointed in me!) Luckily we have a low couch and she landed on some soft blankets.

She’s also become quite the mover. It’s amazing how much she leans forward (pretty much folds her body in half) if she’s trying to get something just out of reach. This always happens when she’s going for our shoes or the older kids’ toys! She cannot be trusted! She is so flexible and determined. We’ve had to really get serious about where everyone leaves their things because Evie LOVES to be around everyone and wants EVERYTHING she’s not supposed to have. This girl is curious.

She’s been doing amazing sleeping at night in her bed (a few wake ups) but not so great napping during the day. FOR SURE, she doesn’t like to nap in her crib upstairs and she’s quickly becoming too big for the infant swing. Lola wakes her up in the morning (still, every morning — is SHOCKED and excited that her “sister” is sleeping in her room). She rolled over in the middle of the night for the first time and was NOT thrilled.

We also celebrated the 4th of July! I loved her little outfit 🙂 We did the drive-through safari at the zoo and she sat up in the front seat! We also did a few day trips around Massachusetts and pretty much she slept in the car the whole way! Oh, and I can’t forget she’s become quite the little hype girl cheering on her brother at his baseball games!

Evie still doesn’t have any teeth AND she eats anything you offer her 🙂 and she went from not making a peep unless she was hysterically crying (seriously, I was a little worried) to being a nonstop chatterbox. She’s a happy girl and we’re so excited she’s ours!
