Twelve months with Eva June.

This girl is O N E! I can’t believe it, but here we are!

Her growth this past month has been subtle but when I look back at photos, my mind is blown! She can now crawl up on furniture and is a couch jumper. She loves to go up the stairs and is obsessed with playing outside — especially on the swing set.

She is now standing independently, she claps, laughs so loudly and deeply when she’s tickled, and holds on so tight whenever you give her a hug. She loves Javi and Lola and watches them all day long! She lets her voice be heard and there’s definitely no way she’ll ever be left behind as the third or the youngest. She’s a front and center girl!

Eva loves to be carried and twirled around. She starts dancing the second a song comes on. She’s a big fan of Justin Bieber (though that might just be my influence.) She still loves her bottles (and I’ve yet to try to take that away from her.) She also loves food and is turning into a little snacker. When the older kids get themselves a snack, she’s RIGHT there, too — waiting for help.

She’s obsessed with the play kitchen set and has learned to throw things around (which she thinks is so funny.) She loves opening and closing cabinets and will take everything out of drawers before we can even stop her. She also loves the big kid playroom so I think she’ll need to be moved in there soon.

She’s growing like a weed. She moved up to all 18 month clothing and size 5 shoes (and got her first pair of boots!) I have no idea how much she weighs but her appointment with the doctor is in a few weeks. When she’s nervous or sad she pulls at her ears. It’s her little tell that she’s uncomfortable. She also has learned about tones of voice and responds this same way when we call her name to stop doing something. She giggles when we say no and continues whatever she’s doing!

We had a very small party at home with just us five (plus gramma and Barb on Zoom.) She enjoyed her slice of cake and let everyone else open her presents — which she very much enjoyed!

She’s pure magic and I can’t believe she’s ours.
