Today, we hosted a Halloween party for friends! The kids were so happy to wear their costumes and for the festive activities. They all love a good party. 🙂 Eva broke out her Sally costume from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Lola was Addison, a cheerleader from the Disney movie Zombies, and Javi was a character called Huggy Wuggy.

I’ve had a vision of having over friends and their kids for some Halloween fun for a while. Every year, I always intend on it but it has never worked out. This time of year is so busy and just seems to get busier as the days go on!

We had 10 kids between us all, from 6th grade to 6 months old (!), and they all got right to playing! Javi, Lola and Eva were so excited to play with their toys and be the “hosts” of the party.

Sean helped me pull off the party by bringing my vision to life! He prepped all the food. We kept it slightly simple (I say — knowing I had nothing to do with the prep work!) with some appetizers, snack foods and treats! How cute is the skeleton brie?!

I saw this chocolate/caramel apple slice dipping station on instagram and even though I followed directions — it was a major fail! The idea was: cut the apple, stick an apple slice onto a lollipop stick, dip in the dipping sauce of your choice, and cover with toppings. Well… that’s not how it worked out! But it looks good for the photo anyway!

I set up a pumpkin painting station at the kids’ table, which was as successful as pumpkin painting can be! The pumpkins turned out really festive!

The kids did some cookie decorating! I always think decorating the cookies is more fun than actually eating the cookies. But I’m not a fan of sugar cookies and I do love sprinkles and frosting.

I also set up a little paper craft in the playroom, thanks to my mom who cut out all the paper shapes (!), so the kids could make paper monsters. These looked great!

All in all, it was a fun afternoon of food, drinks, Halloween crafts and football (and the Patriots actually won!)
