March Highlights.

March was a big deal for our family. We had sports and activities, family visits and holidays, birthday celebrations and a weekend away and yes! A new baby. 🙂

March has come and gone. It’s been an exciting, sleepless month but I’m feeling very grateful. Here’s a little peek at the month.

I started the month by giving birth — literally, on March 1st. So I spent the month recovering from childbirth. It’s not exactly the best way to spend a month, but it’s not the worst either! Each day I feel a little better than the day before. I’ve had my two week check-up and go back in another two weeks for my six week check-up. I spend my days nap trapped on the couch, pumping in my bed, and trying to catch up on dishes and laundry which I just can’t do. My house is a mess, we can’t find anything, and I sort of feel like someone is always upset with me. But… I’m doing my best!

Javi started the lacrosse season by playing indoor lacrosse. He moves to the outdoor field in April. He was also busy with Cub Scouts and went on an overnight at the EcoTarium. My dad ended up taking him to that because Sean and I were in the hospital with the baby. Sean took him on a special one-on-one outing and they saw Dune 2 in the theater. He’s been reading like crazy and we celebrated his 1/2 birthday! On a negative note, he spent 10 days on antibiotics for strep throat and then 3 days after those finished he got a 4-day fever! So, we’ve been upping his vitamins and trying to get him on the mend most of the month.

Lola has been busy with dance, tumbling and Girl Scouts! She wrapped up her cookie sales, had a “twilight” sleep under with the girls, and got to do a day of karate. She’s been pretending she runs a spa and we’ve all been putting cucumbers on our eyes and getting massages from her. She’s pretty good at it! She’s been loving her fairy garden at Gramma’s house, and she chose shoe shopping and a lunch date with me for her one-on-one outing. She’s also been playing lots of dress up, making her friends so many drawings, and learning to apply makeup and nail polish.

Eva’s been putting on concerts all month long! She’s been playing dress up, and loving making art. She chose to get a haircut during her one-on-one outing, and she got to spend an afternoon at the dance place for an Easter Egg hunt! She’s been sick off and on this month, too but the doctor kept saying it’s just a virus! She got to have a playdate with a friend from preschool and she loved that so much.

Walker joined our family this month! He’s gained two pounds, has us all head over heels for him and sleeps about 20 hours a day.

I went away for three nights for my Scrapbook Weekend (happens every March) and took Walker with me. Sean had Javi, Lola and Eva and they had an eventful weekend together. They went bowling, to the playground, a birthday party, a playdate, and out to dinner!

We’ve all just been loving on baby Walker and he met a whole bunch of family members between visits and celebrations. We can’t get enough of him!

Sean celebrated turning 38. We had a day without children (my parents watched them) and went to lunch together and spent the day napping. Then we all went to dinner together.

We also started our garden, voted, got a DIY face painting kit, and took a lot of photos! I got my nails done and completed my ring stack by adding Walker’s name.

My mom made the kids these shirts. I originally saw them on Amazon and asked her to make them. They came out so cute: big, mid, lil, tiny. Sometimes we call Walker, “tiny”. 🙂

We also celebrated Easter with egg dyeing, food prep, baskets, egg hunts and family time.

Happy April!
