Our November.

Welcome to our November!

We’re almost at the end of the year and I’ve done so well (in comparison to previous years!) with recapping our months — so here’s November before December is over!

The kids started the month off by participating in a kindness fundraiser at school. They wrote letters, donated toys and clothes, made pictures for their teachers — the list goes on! They ended up raising a couple hundred dollars and they were so proud!

Javi ended up pairing his many acts of kindness with a lot of his work with the Cub Scouts. He decorated cards for soldiers, wrote thank you letters to veterans and led the Pledge of Allegiance at the senior center on Veterans Day, and volunteered for two hours to help an organization get ready to serve Thanksgiving meals to families that otherwise couldn’t have a Thanksgiving meal.

Their school hosted a “paint your own pottery night” and we loved doing that! On our way in, we dropped off food donations in a giant turkey box (that we made and by “we”, I mean Barb!)

Lola’s Cheer team went on to compete at the State competition! They didn’t end up placing but they were amazing and she had so much fun!

Javi participated in the Spartan Kids Race at Fenway Park! We made a day of it and had lunch near Fenway and then cheered him on! He said he “kinda liked it” but wouldn’t do it again because it was a lot of work!

Eva was so sick in November! I feel like I say it every month — preschool hasn’t been kind to her immune system! But she was busy with her first homework assignment — “to disguise a turkey” — she chose to disguise her turkey as her favorite character… Bluey!

Then while she was home sick (many, many days!) she had fun with some new toys!

Eva also turned four! She wasn’t feeling good the day before her birthday so I ended up keeping her home for the week (it was the short week anyway because of Thanksgiving) and we snuck out to the movies! We saw the new Trolls movie!

Lola had an exciting week in her class when she got to be the “Top Dog”! Each day she got to do something special to teach her classmates about her! One day, Sean and I were expected to write her a letter or make a video for her teacher to read/show to the class and I put together this slideshow for her!

We hosted Thanksgiving! Lola helped with a lot of the prep — I made many pies: blueberry, apple, chocolate pudding, pumpkin — all for no one to eat them because we don’t eat pie. I just had it in my head that I wanted to make them!

By the end of the month, we were ready for Christmas! We picked out our tree, started decorating the house, and the kids got really excited!

And that’s our short little recap!
