Our September.

Our September!

It’s officially November, so why not recap September?! The month started off with everyone returning to/beginning school for the first time! The kids had a seamless transition and have been so happy to go each day. In the midst of back to school madness, I also joined their Book Fairs, and we went to their classroom Open Houses where we got to meet their teachers and I got even more opportunities to sign-up for volunteering. 🙂

Eva also spent a majority of the month… sick! After 4 days at school, she came down Hand, Foot and Mouth and a week after she returned (after a week of being home), she ended up with pneumonia and was home for another week!

Fall sports started and we spent our “free time” at Field Hockey and Ninja! The girls also started dance and gymnastics — and I totally bought them adult sized tap shoes which Eva thought was just the funniest thing ever.

Eva and I found a new rhythm of school in the morning and time together in the afternoon. Some days we run errands, or have lunch together at Chipotle and some afternoons we craft and bake. It’s been really nice.

Because of the pneumonia, I had to go solo to a family wedding in New Hampshire and Sean stayed home with the kids! The whole time I kept thinking… the kids would love this place! The hotel had a hot tub and a hotel cat!

It’s no surprise we spent a major part of the month, cheering on our cheerleader! From team practices to football games to choreography days and cheer competitions… it was intense! But her team placed third in their September competition and she was so excited!

We also tried to do some fun things on the weekends! One weekend, Javi volunteered with Cub Scouts during a block party and the kids ended up being able to go on the playground, jump on the bounce houses and Javi got to ride a mechanical bull! Another weekend, we took them to an art festival — where they, of course, got amazing face paint!

And then we had some birthdays! I turned 37 and Javi turned 8! The week of his birthday, he lost his second tooth!

And then it was October!
