Lovevery is a toy company that sells products (subscription kits, and baby and kid items) that are scientifically designed, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and heavily rely on Montessori principles. The materials are thoughtfully recommended for your child (and automatically shipped if you have a subscription) based on their birthday.
So far I have purchased the Thinker kit, the Babbler kit, the Realist kit and now the Companion kit! Here are my thoughts on the products included in this kit that is designed for children ages 22-24 months.

Mosaic button board: This material works on fine motor skills while color matching and following a pattern. It comes with a couple different patterns (laminated sheets) you can switch out. Eva likes this work, but switching out the sheets isn’t an independent step. She needs help. She loves the color matching aspect of this activity though so I feel like it’s aged appropriately.
Chunky wooden jigsaw puzzle: When I saw this, I thought it was going to be too easy for her since she loves puzzles and is really, very good at them! Honestly, I thought this activity would be a wash and not really used. But don’t be fooled! It’s SO challenging for her! I don’t even know why but she struggles to arrange the pieces into a square. I think it’s because there’s no frame. So, if you have someone who is a puzzle lover… still give this one a shot!
Transfer tweezers and felt stars: What an adorable material! I really like this one and so does Eva (and Lola!) The felt stars are really well made and they haven’t frayed or lost their shape. It’s been four months of pretty consistent use. I wish the tweezers were slightly larger. They are small and sometimes get mistaken for a doll accessory so they end up missing!
Graham turns two: I can’t say enough good things about the Lovevery books and this one is no different. We love them. This one is all about a child’s second birthday (party included!) It’s sweet. There are a few pages Eva loves and just looks at them over and over.
Montessori Animal Match: I love the idea of this material and truthfully we already own some activities like this. Here are my issues with this (they’re not big… but I’m being honest.) There’s a lion, a monkey, a dog, a pig, a cat and a cow. I know the point is to explore similarities and differences but I wish they stuck to a theme — like pets, or safari animals, or farm animals. I feel like they are all over the map. The other thing that sticks out to me is that the cat, the lion and the pig face to the right on their cards and the cow and the dog face to the left. It annoys me. I wish they were all facing the same way. And my last issue is that this activity comes with a drawstring bag (which is cute!) but it has a horse on it. And there’s no horse figurine. So, not huge issues by any means. I just feel like this one has some room for change.
All that said, Eva really likes it! But it’s too easy for her. I wish there were more animals and cards to match.
Buckle barrel: This is the hit of the kit in my opinion. We didn’t have anything like it and it’s the item in the kit that made me order it (sometimes if we have too many similar materials already I skip kits.) The buckles are equal parts challenging and safe (won’t pinch fingers!) It’s well made and everyone loves it. It’s great as a shelf work and also fun to bring along in the car.
Wooden posting stand: Eva is obsessed with posting activities. They are her favorite. She loves this material. The stand is sturdy and the work is challenging but also self-correcting so completely independent. I paired it with these felt baskets (also by Lovevery but gifted to me by Lovevery.)
Overall, I’m happy with this kit and I’m glad I ordered it!
