Scrapbook Weekend.

A short recap of Scrapbook Weekend 2022!

For the last 12 years (minus 2020 + 2021 — although last year we did it virtually) I’ve been going away on a Scrapbook Weekend in March. It’s typically around Saint Patrick’s Day and for three nights, I travel to the White Mountains in New Hampshire with family and friends for 3-4 days of… scrapbooking!

I used to decide ahead of time what I would be working on and I would plan and prep and do power layouts so that I could be the most time efficient. I have dozens of scrapbooks completed, small and large, and I do love to look through them. I love the detailing, choosing paper, cropping and matting photos, attaching embellishments and using all different tools to elevate the look of each scrapbook. In 2020, we couldn’t go away and so I switched to digital scrapbooking. (gasp!) And sadly, since then… I love my digital scrapbooks! (gasp!) So this was the first year that I didn’t bring any personal projects! Just my computer.

But since I plan the weekend away (with my mom’s help!), we did a lot of prepping to make sure the weekend was a fun getaway for all. We had welcome bags, and individual items for everyone that we personalized using the Cricut. We planned make + takes, and break-out sessions and held instructional classes each day. And we had raffles and prizes throughout the weekend. It’s a lot of fun!

Here’s a peek at all the break-out sessions we taught!

We also did things like a friendly decorating a box competition and even a Favorite Things party (everyone brings 6 of their favorite things and then we swap. Everyone leaves with 6 new things.)

Typically we stay in a condo, but this year we stayed in a lodge. It had a really large open space for scrapbooking/crafting with big tables, a lounge area with a fireplace and a full kitchen. Then it had eight bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. I thought I would share some pictures of the setup!

Even though, I didn’t do much scrapbooking — I did have such a great time! It was very nice to be away, laugh with friends and have a change in routine (and also sleep! — did I mention sleep??)
